A Brief Introduction to Xiangnan University

Xiangnan University was originally founded in 1912, with over 100 years’ history. It is a full-time public university approved by the National Education Ministry. The beautiful campus covers an area of 98 hectares with a building area of 68 hectares and has been awarded as a provincial “Garden-Style University”.

Xiangnan University is a comprehensive university focusing on teachers training and medical education. It is composed of 19 schools, with 44 undergraduate programs, covering 9 disciplines such as literature, science, medicine, education, management, engineering, economics, law, art etc.. There are about 19,000 full-time students enrolled from 28 provinces or regions all over China. The university has a teaching staff of 793, 99 of whom are professors and chief physicians. The university invites more than 407 notable experts and scholars as part-time or visiting professors. The university is equipped with language labs, multimedia classrooms, micro format classrooms and more than 100 labs for computer science, physics, chemistry and medical science.
